
Become a Caddie
The Caddie & Leadership Academy provides young men and women the opportunity to learn and grow both on and off the golf course through caddying. The Academy will assist caddies in developing their leadership skills and instill in them the value of strong work ethic and perseverance. As a caddie, you will work directly with the members of our partnering country clubs to build authentic relationships and gain valuable life experiences. The Caddie & Leadership Academy will be held at Oak Hill Country Club in 2025.
This program runs from Early May through mid-August and requires attendance/completion of ALL of the following:
Training/orientation sessions – Each 2 hours in length
Weekly leadership meetings – Each 1 hour in length
Volunteer service – 2 hours per month totaling 6 hours for the summer
Weekly work logs – detailing time worked and loops completed
A minimum of 3 loops every week
(A loop is one 18 hole round of golf, carrying a bag and servicing a golfer which takes about 4 hours)
Upon successful completion of weekly responsibilities, program participants will receive $500/month. Caddies may also receive a tip from their golfer after a completed loop.
For consideration into this program qualified applicants will be:
Entering their freshman or sophomore year of high school in the fall
Achieve academic excellence with a minimum 3.0 GPA
Able to attend and complete ALL portions of the 12 week program
Have transportation to/from the specified courses above
Demonstrate a financial need
After successfully completing one summer of our Academy, you will be placed at one of the partnering country clubs in 2026 to continue your caddie career. The Academy will continue to mentor all graduates and help prepare those interested in and eligible to apply for the Western Golf Associations Evans Scholarship.
